Hotel description

Even the German scientist Alexander v. Humboldt (1769-1859) called Bad Honnef the "Venice on the Rhine". At that time he meant the mild climate ideal for hiking and cycling and the bright Southern way of living of the inhabitants of the Rhineland in addition to the culture offered by nearby cities such as Bonn and Cologne. It has been a pleasure for us to follow the traces of Humboldt. For where could you better relax and learn than in an untroubled and merry atmosphere?

The Rhineland cooking is just as cheery and uncomplicated as the people. Apart from "Rievkoche" (potato fritter) and "Surbrode" (Rhineland braised beef marinated in vinegar), you´ll also find international delicacies on the menu of Alexanders Restaurant. Favourite gathering places at every time of the day are the Honnef Bierfässchen with a small vine arbour and the cocktail and dancing bar Palmengarten with café and terrace. You can sit together comfortably and enjoy sports and games in the fireplace lounge with pool billiards or in the Kegelstube with bar where you can tap your beer yourself. Alexander´s Restaurant: Light meals of the regional and international cuisine are offered on the menu of Alexander´s Restaurant (220 seats), named after Alexander v. Humboldt, the famous discoverer and scientist. The family brunch on Sundays from 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. is particularly popular. Palmengarten: The cocktail bar of the "Happy Snack & Dancing Club" (120 seats) is a popular gathering place for nice people. Here, you can unwind and relax, chat and enjoy an excellent drink. In beautiful weather, the seats on the terrace are especially popular. Bierfässchen mit Weinlaube: Beer enthusiasts and wine connoisseurs have their "regular seat" in the beer and wine garden of the lobby.
